Construction Estimator

Lee-Built Construction has operations in multiple locations throughout the Pacific Northwest. We need qualified and motivated individuals in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho

At Lee-Built Construction, we are always looking for experienced tradespeople to help with all phases of commercial construction, remodeling, and service/maintenance work. Experience with carpentry, drywall patching/painting, basic plumbing, and electrical work is a tremendous asset. Our customers require a wide range of tasks, so having technicians with a varied skill base is a must. We do both short duration service work and longer term construction projects. 

Work hours will include some evenings/weekends and overtime is available. Schedulers will work with you to make sure vacation and personal time is available and respected.

Wage: $25-$30 per hour, compensation based on experience plus PTO, employer funded 401K, employer paid health and dental insurance.


  • At least 3 years experience with field construction in some capacity.

  • At least 2 years experience with estimating.

  • Be able to read blueprints/drawings.

  • Proficient in Office software and estimating takeoffs using excel or other estimating software; comfortable with learning new software.

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Background check and drug test required.

  • Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.

Estimator Construction Job Duties:

  • Follow up on quote requests as assigned.

  • Prepare commercial construction budgets and quotes; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation, develop reasonable timeline and be able to communicate all of this to our customers.

  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.

  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

  • Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Work effectively with co-workers to prepare bids on time, meet costing standards and manage projects.

  • Conduct site visits as applicable to take measurements, photo document, and meet with subcontractors. 

  • Create an excel spread sheet and input all project takeoff information. 

  • Download / input all project info into the project folder. 

  • Review project scope and estimate with the Senior Estimator before finalizing the estimate. 

  • Prepare a detailed project specific proposal. 

  • Input data into customer supplied bid form if applicable. 

  • Ensure proposal verbiage, scope and pricing are correct. 

  • Follow up on proposals.
